5 Things to Move Before We Show Up

Short one. People ask what they should do before we get there, and the honest answer is nothing, we will handle it. But if you want the job to go faster and you would rather we spend the time cleaning than carrying, here is the list.

1. Cushions and soft goods

Outdoor cushions, throw pillows, rugs, and anything fabric. They are the one category that genuinely does not dry quickly in Alabama humidity, and a soaked cushion left on a patio in July becomes its own problem.

Everything else on the patio we will move and put back.

2. Small decorations and anything breakable

Wind chimes, garden gnomes, ceramic planters, solar lights, the little things along a walkway. We work around them, but small items get knocked more easily than furniture, and the sentimental ones are never the sturdy ones.

If there is something you would be upset to lose, move it or point it out and we will treat it carefully.

3. Vehicles

Cars, boats, trailers, motorcycles, and the mower. Anything sitting on the concrete has to move for the concrete to get cleaned, and anything sitting near the wall we are washing is going to get overspray.

Cleaning solution on a car is not going to damage it, but nobody wants to wash their truck twice in one day.

4. Check your windows

Walk through and make sure everything is latched. Older windows especially, and anything that has been painted or has failing weather stripping. We work carefully around openings and we still would rather you check.

Same goes for a garage door left cracked and any basement or crawl space vents you have opened for the season.

5. Plan for pets

Dogs do not enjoy pressure washers. Neither do cats, and cats will find a way out of the yard on the day a stranger opens the gate.

Inside is easiest. If your dog is going to be in the yard, tell us and we will let you know when we are moving between the front and back so nothing gets left open.

One more that is not on the list

Gates. If your back yard is fenced and you will not be home, unlock the gate or send us the code. A locked gate is an easy way to lose a day, and it is entirely avoidable.

What we handle

Patio furniture, grills, planters that are not fragile, door mats, and anything else on the surfaces we are cleaning. We move it, clean, and put it back where it was. You should not have to reset your own patio because we came by.

If you are not going to be home, none of this is a problem. Just leave us water access and a way in, and we will take care of the rest.
